"THE DAY GOD LIED?"

SCRIPTURE READING: GENESIS 3:1-6

SCRIPTURE TEXT: GENESIS 3:3-5

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

INTRO: How do you react when someone calls you a liar?

How do you think God feels when we call Him a liar?

Give a brief background of the Scripture setting.

Satan seeks to do three things when tempting us to sin:

Question the validity of God’s Word

To make sin desirable

To make the consequences of sin to be of no consequence.

The first step on the road to sin, is doubting God’s Word.

Whenever we doubt God’s Word, His instructions, His warnings or His promises, we are saying that God has lied.

The tragedy of Hurricane of Katrina is a present day example of how people respond to God’s Word and it demonstrates the consequences of either believing God or calling God a liar.

People responded to the warning of Katrina the same way people have responded to God’s Word.

There are those who did not hear the warnings.

There are those who heard but did not believe and refuse to comply.

There are those who heard but felt that the consequences would not be very severe.

There were those who heard, believed but procrastinated

There were those who heard, believed and responded properly.

I. THERE ARE THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER HEARD THE

GOSPEL MESSAGE.

NOTE: It is the responsibility of those who have heard the Word of God to share it with those who have not.

ROMANS 10:13-15 (NLT) For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

II. THERE ARE THOSE WHO HEAR THE GOSPEL MESSAGE

BUT REFUSE TO BELIEVE OR COMPLY.

ROMANS 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

JOHN 12:37-38 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: that the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

GENESIS 19:14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

III. THERE ARE THOSE WHO HEAR BUT DO NOT BELIEVE

THAT THE CONSEQUENCES WILL BE SERIOUS.

ECCLESIASTES. 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

NOTE: Because they do not see judgment right away, there are those who believe that God doesn’t really mean what He says in regard to judgment.

REVELATION 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

They only see God as a God of Love and they fail to see Him as a God or righteousness and justice.

IV. THERE ARE THOSE WHO BELIEVE BUT SEEK TO

PROCRASTINATE

GENESIS 19:16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

ACTS 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

NOTE: The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

One of the sadist cries that will be heard on Judgment Day, "I always meant too but never got around to doing it."

V. THERE ARE THOSE WHO HEAR THE GOSPEL MESSAGE,

BELIEVE AND RESPOND TO ITS CALL.

MATTHEW 7:24-25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

JOHN 1:11-13 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

NOTE: When it comes to the Gospel message we must believe two things God tells us of:

We must believe of the judgment of sin

We must believe the promise of Salvation

1 JOHN 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

CONCLUSION: We call God a liar when we fail to believe the judgments He warns us of, but we also call God a liar when we fail to believe the promises He give.

God cannot lie, as His judgments are true and so are His promises.

WHO IS JESUS, LUNATIC, LIAR OR THE SON OF GOD?

Y0UR ANSWER DETERMINES YOUR DESTINY

SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 16:13-23

SCRIPTURE TEXT: MATTHEW 16:13

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

INTRO: What is the most important question you have ever asked, or been asked?

There are three questions that are far and above all other questions.

I.  WHOM DO MEN SAY THAT I THE SON OF MAN AM?

MATTHEW 16:13

NOTE: The world has many different views and opinions on who Jesus is.

There are those who see Jesus in a very negative sense.

   A. SOME SEE JESUS AS A LUNATIC

NOTE: In Jesus’ day there were those who saw Him as a lunatic or someone possessed by the devil.

JOHN 10:20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

   B.  SOME SEE JESUS AS A LIAR

NOTE: They refuse to believe the messages He brought or the lessons He taught.

   C.  SOME SEE JESUS AS SOMEONE TO HATE & DESPISE

MARK 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

   D.  SOME SEE JESUS AS A GOOD PERSON BUT NOT TO BE WORSHIPPED

  • Teacher

  • Philosopher

  • Miracle worker

   D.  EVEN HIS FAMILY DID NOT BELIEVE IN HIM

JOHN 7:2-5 Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.  His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.  For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.  For neither did his brethren believe in him.

II.  BUT WHOM SAY YE THAT I AM?

MATTHEW 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

NOTE: The question is now directed to us as individuals

How we answer this question goes a long way determining where we will spend eternity.

JOHN 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

There are many who claim to believe that Jesus is the Son of God but their daily lives say different.

MATTHEW 7:15-20 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

NOTE: If we truly believed that Jesus was the Son of God there are several things we would do without questioning.

   A.  WE WOULD WORSHIP HIM

REVELATION 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

PSALM 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

HEBREWS 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

NOTE: If we truly believed that Jesus is the Son of God, we would love Him with all our hearts and we would seek to worship Him every change we had.

MATTHEW 22:37-38 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.

EXODUS 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

We would not allow anything or anyone to come between Jesus and us.

MATTHEW 10:32-39 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

When we must make a choice between Jesus and others or other things, if we believe that Jesus is the Son of God we will chose Him.

   B.  WE WOULD OBEY HIM

JOHN 14:15, 21, 23-24 If ye love me, keep my commandments … He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him … Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

NOTE: If we believe that Jesus is the Son of God we would obey Him if not out of love than out of fear.

   C.  WE WOULD SEEK TO SERVE HIM

NOTE: When we recognized Jesus as the Son of God we will seek to serve Him in anyway we can.

We will look for ways to serve and please Him.

   D.  WE WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE

NOTE: When we see Jesus as the Son of God and recognize ourselves for as we truly are, we will seek any way we can to show our gratitude for all He has done of us.

PSALM 8:1-9 O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.  When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.  Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

III.  WHAT SHALL I DO THEN WITH JESUS WHICH IS CALLED THE CHRIST?

MATTHEW 27:22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus, which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

NOTE: The question that we will all have to give answer too is what will we do with Jesus, who is called the Christ?

    Who is Jesus to you?

·         Lunatic

·         Liar

·         Son of God

If He is the Son of God than make Him Lord of your life.

THE SECRET OF GIVING JOYOUSLY

SCRIPTURE READING: 2 CORINTHIANS 9:1-15 (GW)

SCRIPTURE TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 9:7

Each of you should give whatever you have decided. You shouldn't be sorry that you gave or feel forced to give, since God loves a cheerful giver.

 INTRO:  Attitude is everything.

It is our attitude that determines whether or not we enjoy what we do.

What is your attitude towards giving?

There are several kinds of givers in the church:

·         There are those who never give

·         There are those who give sparingly

·         There are those who give legally

·         There are those who give grudgingly

·         There are those who give joyously

In the story of the Widow’s Mite, Mark 12:41-44, what made the difference?

God is not interested in the amount we give or even the amount we keep, what God considers is the attitude of the heart of the giver.

Those who give, give for various reasons:

·         Some people give to meet a certain need

·         Some people give in support of a certain cause

·         Some people give to fulfill the feeling of self-worth

·         Some people give to be remembered

·         Some people give to achieve security

·         Some people give to receive a tax credit

·         Some people give to receive a blessing

These may all be good reasons to give but the bottom line is that this kind of giving is self-center.

When our giving is self-center we may receive a sense of joy but it will only last a short time.

How then do we give Joyously?

We give with a heart that is filled with gratitude.

We give not for what we might receive but we give for what we have received.

There are three steps to giving joyously:

I.  RECOGNIZE TO WHOM WE ARE GIVING.

NOTE: The greater the person we are able to give too, the greater is the joy of giving.

MATTHEW 25:40 (GW) "The king will answer them, 'I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant {they seemed}, you did for me.'

COLOSSIANS 3:22-24 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Those, who when they bring their tithe and offerings, bring it to God and not to man or the church give joyously and generously.

If we believe that everything we have we have earned ourselves we will be much more reluctant in sharing it with others including God.

DEUTERONOMY 8:10-18 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;  Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end; and thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.  But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

When we recognize that everything good thing that we have has come from God we enjoy giving back to Him.

JAMES 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

II.  WE GIVE OUT OF A HEART FILLED WITH GRATITUDE

NOTE: The more we learn about God and gain an understanding of what He has done for us, the greater will be our gratitude.

WHEN WE LOSE SIGHT OF THE CROSS OUR GIVING BECOMES TEDIOUS.

Our whole Christian life should be one big "Thank You," a living expression of our gratitude to God for His goodness. But to often we take Him for granted and what we take for granted we never take seriously.

David’s showed his gratitude towards God by his giving.

1 CHRONICLES 17:16-20 And David the king came and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?  And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O Lord God.  What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.  O Lord, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.  O Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

1 CHRONICLES 29:3-5 Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses withal: the gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?

III.  WE GIVE OUT OF A HEART FILLED WITH LOVE.

NOTE: When we give out of a heart filled with love for the person we are giving to, we experience true joy by giving.

When we give to God we do not give out of His need for what we are giving but rather out of our love for Him.

PSALM 50:7-15 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God. I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.  I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.  For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.  I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.  If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: and call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

ILL: Giving Kathleen Mrs. See’s candy.

The heart of the giver is far more important that the gift the givers give.

PSALM 51:16-19 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.  Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.  Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

It is the attitude of the heart of the giver that makes the gift they give acceptable unto God.

CONCLUSION: When we give are we giving to God?

Are we giving out of gratitude and thanksgiving?

Are we giving out of Love?

If we are, than we will give joyously.

ENJOYING THE LEFTOVERS

SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 15:21-28

SCRIPTURE TEXT:  MATTHEW 15:27

And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

INTRO:   One of the things I like best about Thanksgiving is being able to eat leftovers the next day.

There are those who refuse to eat leftovers and they miss out on some of the best things in life.

Some people will refuse to buy used cloths and will spend $ 60.00 for a blouse or shirt.  Someone else will go to a Yard Sale and buy a blouse or shirt for 50 cents that is just a good as the expensive one.

Not only are there leftover food and clothing, there are people who are leftover.

Those who have been seemly destroyed by sin and the world had rejected them.

Sometimes even the church rejects the leftovers of this world.

JAMES 2:1-9 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.  For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; and ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?  Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?  But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?  Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?  If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: but if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

I.  WHO ARE THE LEFTOVERS?

NOTE:  The leftovers are all those who do not fit into our accepted molds.

      A.  THIS WOMAN WAS NOT JEWISH

NOTE: This woman is a type of the Church.

MARK 7:26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

She was different, she was consider by the Jews as an outcast.

The world is filled with those who are consider as outcasts by others including some Christians.

ILL:  His Name is Bill

His Name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans and no shoes.  This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college.  He is brilliant.  Kinda esoteric and very, very bright.  He became a Christian while attending college.

Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church.  They want to develop a ministry to the students, but are not sure how to go about it. One day Bill decides to go there.  He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair.  The service has already started and so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat.  The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat.  By now people are looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything.  Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit and when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet. (Although perfectly acceptable behavior at a college fellowship, trust me, this had never happened in this church before!)  By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.

About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill.  Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, a three-piece suit, and a pocket watch.  A godly man, very elegant, very dignifies, very courtly.  He walks with a cane and as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves, you can't blame him for what he's going to do.  How can you expect man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor? It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.  The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane.  All eyes are focused on him.  You can't even hear anyone breathing. The people are thinking, the minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do.  And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor.  With great difficulty he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone.  Everyone chokes up with emotion.  When the minister gains control he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember.  What you have just seen, you will never forget."[1]

   B.  JESUS IGNORED HER

MATTHEW 15:23a But he answered her not a word.

NOTE:  The Law was giving to Israel not to the Gentiles.

It was very difficult for a Gentile to become a Jew.

Often times those who have been discarded by the world feel that God and His church has also discarded them.

   C.  THE DISCIPLES TRIED TO GET RID OF HER.

MATTHEW 15:23b And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

NOTE:  Too many Christians have the elder brother’s complex.

LUKE 15:29-30 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: but as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

   D.  WE ARE ALL LEFTOVERS.

NOTE: God’s message of redemption first came to Israel.

MATTHEW 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

ROMANS 11:13-25 (GW)  Now, I speak to you who are not Jewish. As long as I am an apostle sent to people who are not Jewish, I bring honor to my ministry.  Perhaps I can make my people jealous and save some of them. 1If Israel's rejection means that the world has been brought back to God, what does Israel's acceptance mean? It means that Israel has come back to life.  If the first handful of dough is holy, the whole batch of dough is holy. If the root is holy, the branches are holy.  But some of the olive branches have been broken off, and you, a wild olive branch, have been grafted in their place. You get your nourishment from the roots of the olive tree.  So don't brag about being better than the other branches. If you brag, remember that you don't support the root, the root supports you.  “Well,” you say, “Branches were cut off so that I could be grafted onto the tree.”  That's right! They were broken off because they didn't believe, but you remain on the tree because you do believe. Don't feel arrogant, but be afraid.  If God didn't spare the natural branches, he won't spare you, either.  Look at how kind and how severe God can be. He is severe to those who fell, but kind to you if you continue to hold on to his kindness. Otherwise, you, too, will be cut off {from the tree}.  If Jewish people do not continue in their unbelief, they will be grafted onto the tree again, because God is able to do that.  In spite of the fact that you have been cut from a wild olive tree, you have been grafted onto a cultivated one. So wouldn't it be easier for these natural branches to be grafted onto the olive tree they belong to?  Brothers and sisters, I want you to understand this mystery so that you won't become arrogant. The minds of some Israelites have become closed until all of God's non-Jewish people are included.

II.  JESUS MINISTERED TO THE LEFTOVERS.

  • The woman at the well

  • The woman caught in adultery

  • Zacchaeus

III.  JESUS CALL HIS CHURCH TO ENJOY THE LEFTOVERS

OF THIS WORLD AND TO BRING THEM INTO HIS

       CHURCH.

LUKE 14:21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

JOHN 6:12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:18-19 All this newness of life is from God, who brought us back to himself through what Christ did. And God has given us the task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.

CONCLUSION:  Let us go out and invite the leftovers to come and enjoy the Table of the Lord with us.
